Pol Alemany Prats received both the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2013 and 2017, respectively. Among his experience, there is an Erasmus grant between the end of 2011 and beginning of 2013, to finish his B.Sc degree in the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. While studying for his M.Sc degree, he work in Atos and participated in the maintenance of the IT systems of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brasil).
In July 2017 he joined CTTC as an assistant researcher of the Optical Networks and Systems Department in the Communication Networks Division.
His current research interests include network technologies as Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) in optical and wired networks, moreover automation communications as his M.Sc thesis was related to Car-2-Car communications. His research activity is focused on SDN/NFV, Network Virtualization and Network Orchestration. as he is currently he is working on his PhD thesis which focuses on the security of Network Slicing and SDN/NFV networks.
Up until now, he has been involved in the H2020 project 5GTANGO. Nowadays is working on the INSPIRE-5Gplus and 5GCroco projects.
