Pol Alemany Prats received both the B.Sc. and the M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2013 and 2017, respectively. Among his experience, there is an Erasmus grant (2012-2013) to finish his B.Sc degree in the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. While studying for his M.Sc degree, he worked in Atos and participated in the maintenance of the IT systems of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). In July 2017 he joined CTTC as an assistant researcher of the Packet Optical Networks and Services (PONS) Research Unit (RU). Since then, he has been involved in multiple European funded projects such as the 5GTANGO, 5GCroCO and INSPRIE-5GPlus. Nowadays he is part of the team working in the Hexa-X-II and Across European projects and the spanish 6GOPENSEC-SECURITY and 6GOPENSEC-TRUST projects. His current research interests include network technologies such as Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and the use of Distributed Ledger Technologies (e.g., Blockchain) or Machine Learning (ML) on optical transport networks. His latest research activity is focused on SDN/NFV, Network Virtualization and Network Orchestration which lead him to become a PhD student with his thesis research focused on the security and trustworthiness on different aspects around the Network Slicing and SDN/NFV networks.
