Adrian Agustin received the M.S. degree in Telecommunication Engineering (2000), Electronic Engineering (2002) and PhD degree from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain.During the period 2000 – 2002 he was with Indra-Espacio, Barcelona, where he was engaged in the research and development of code synchronization techniques for Direct Sequence –Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA).His PhD (2002-2008) was devoted to investigate relay-assisted cooperative transmission schemes, and the obtained results contributed to the European Commission (EC) projects of the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Program ROMANTIK, FIREWORKS and ROCKET, respectively. After obtaining the doctoral degree (May 2008), he has been a research associate at the SPCOM group. In addition to his research in relay-assisted transmission, he has been working in the following areas: Radio Resource Management, Interference Alignment, Interference Management, Machine Type Communications, Visible Light Communications, Massive MIMO mmW and Wireless Software Defined Networking.

He has participated in the EC projects ROCKET, FREEDOM, TROPIC, TUCAN3G and 5GWireless, one industry contract (1 year) with HUAWEI, and several National and Regional projects (ECO, FBNIT, COMONSENS, MOSAIC, DISNET, 5G&RUNNER).

The scientific work has generated publications in 16 international journals, 57 international conferences, 5 book chapters, 3 patents, 10 standard contributions, see for example https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=6602942871, https://scholar.google.es/citations?user=z7NcDOwAAAAJ&hl=es&oi=ao, or http://futur.upc.edu/AdrianAgustindeDios.

In 2016 he was qualified for research accreditation by AQU (Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency) thanks to his post-doctoral activity.

During his career at SPCOM group he has co-advised 3 PhD Thesis, 3 Treballs fi de Grau, 3 Master Thesis.

From October 2019 to March 2021 he has been working in the SME called SEMIC where he has involved in tasks at networking level (security, switching, wireless communications) and proposals for public tenders.
In April 2021 he has joined the Advanced Signal and Information Processing department at CTTC.
