Waleed Akbar pursued a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication and Networking from COMSATS University, Abbottabad campus in 2014. He followed this with a master’s degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Edge Networking from the same university in 2018. He then successfully completed a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering with specialization in Network Monitoring and Big Data Processing from Jeju National University, South Korea in 2022.
His professional journey began at COMSATS university, where he worked as Lab Instructor from 2014 to 2018, responsible for conducting labs in networking and programming courses. After completing his master’s degree, he was promoted to lecturer (2018-2020). Additionally, he was involved in many managerial activities, such as organizing international conferences, conducting tech events and workshops.
Currently, Waleed is a researcher at CTTC, focusing on building Telemetry and Monitoring framework for heterogeneous networks including IP, Cloud and Optical. He acquired these skills during his doctoral studies, where he worked on many industrial projects related to SDN, NFV, zero-trust and 5G.
