Rizwan Ashfaq

Rizwan Ashfaq obtained the B.Sc. in Electrical (Telecommunications) Engineering from Hamdard University Karachi (Islamabad Campus) in 2013, and the M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering (with specialization in GNSS) from Institute of Space Technology (IST) Islamabad in 2019. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Department of Signal Theory and Communications (TSC) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).

Prior to joining CTTC’s SRCOM Research Unit in March 2024, he worked at ANIX Electronics North Zone, as a Technical Operations Manager (May 2013 – Feb 2015) and at Pak China Silk Road Construction Company Pvt. Ltd., as a Site Engineer (May 2019 – Feb 2021). He also took part in reasearch based activities related to signal processing at SPCOMNAV (Signal processing for communication and Navigation) research group at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

His primary areas of interest include 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks, Wireless Communication, SDR, GNSS and GNSS-SDR.

Rizwan has participated in three publications, 1 conference paper and 2 journal articles.

• Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, Overseas Scholarship Program (OSSP) Phase III, Batch III. 
• Selected at the University of Trento for admission to the 39th cycle (academic year 2023/2024) of the National Doctoral Program in “Space Science and Technology – SST” on fully funded scholarship.
