5GCroCo shared at the MWC22 its latest results on 5G connectivity tests and trials for the road environment in cross-border environments

After more than three years of research and cooperation, the EU-funded 5GCroCo project, which is coordinated by CTTC, is coming to an end. Three automotive use cases were demonstrated and validated using key 5G technologies in the corridor areas that connect the cities of Metz-Merzig-Luxembourg in France, Germany, and Luxembourg, traversing three countries, two borders.

The main results achieved so far show that cross-border handover works seamlessly and that use of 5G networks is key in reducing the end-to-end latency and increasing the transmission speeds.
