CTTC leads a project on ground motion monitoring

Ico_CTTC

CTTC coordinates the Interreg-POCTEFA-MOMPA project. The project includes Catalan, Andorran and French experts in monitoring terrain movements. During the first year, the deformations of a large Pyrenean territory have been monitored, including Alt Urgell and Cerdanya in Catalonia, Capcir and Conflent in France and Andorra. The monitoring was carried out with a remote sensing technique based on radar data acquired from the Sentinel-1 satellites of the Copernicus program of the European Union.

This activity has made it possible to detect hundreds of deformation phenomena, including subsidence, landslides and deformations of structures and infrastructures. For more information click here.
