CTTC to prototype and demonstrate novel and autonomous multi-band optical networks coping with the stringent transport capacity and automation requirements of beyond 5G networks.

CTTC participates in a new H2020 project named Beyond 5G – oPtical network continuum (B5GOPEN) that started in November 2021. B5G-OPEN targets the design, prototyping, and demonstration of a novel end-to-end integrated packet-optical transport architecture based on multi-band optical transmission and switching networks. Multi-band networks allow to cope with the transport capacity and dynamicity requirements beyond 5G. CTTC leads a WP on autonomous control.
