Since 2011, CTTC has developed and acted as the official maintainer of LENA and 5G-LENA, a full-stack network simulator for 3GPP NR end-to-end evaluations of 4G and 5G networks. In developing 5G-LENA, CTTC has successfully collaborated with a number of major industrial players and agencies like Ubiquisys, WiFi Alliance (WFA), Spidercloud Wireless, InterDigital, National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST), Lawrence Livermore National Lab (LLNL), to name a few.
Currently, 5G-LENA includes functionalizes for operation in mmWave bands, O-RAN, NR-U, or NR V2X. In February 2022, right before MWC22, a new release of 5G-LENA has been launched (version 2.0) which includes simulation capabilities for dual-polarized MIMO system. Click here more details.
