6G-OPTRAN_STEROID - Multiband Optical Transmission and Monitoring Systems

STEROID project (within the coordinated project 6GOPTRAN) is the design, implementation and validation of an optical transport infrastructure that combines i) technologies of access (e.g., NG-PON) ii) advanced transmission systems and transparent optical switching networks and iii) optical transceivers of variable optical capacity/spectrum, supporting multi-band transmission, spatial division multiplexing (SDM) and/or pluggable form factor (pluggable), with speeds of the order of 100,400, 800 Gb/s and up to 1 Tb/s.
