The 3GPP specifies LDPC codes and Polar codes as the standard channel codes for the Physical Layer of the New Radio Access Technology in 5G mobile networks. The aim of the collaboration between Software Radio Systems and CTTC under project 5GCoding-SRS is the design and implementation in C of 5G-compliant encoders and decoders for both type of codes. These software solutions must be heavily optimized to be included in real-time SDR applications.
