Ico_CTTC
Start: 01/09/2011
End: 31/08/2014
Funding: National, Industrial
Status: Completed
Research unit:
Mobile Networks (MONET)
Acronym: SIUSAS

The general objective of SIUSAS project is to research on the technologies enabling Smart Cities. In particular, the work is focused on the design and the implementation of a device in charge of transmitting information coming from the environment where it is installed (public transport systems, smart grids, environment protection and monitoring systems, security systems) using wireless networks in its surroundings (e.g., WiFi, WiMAX, 3G, LTE). The device will communicate independetly from the operator of the access networks and will perform transparent handovers among the different access technologies thanks to an integrated roaming-handover module.

The project is funded by CDTI (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnico Industrial – Spanish Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness)
