The principle objective of this project is the implementation and commercialization of an advanced Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system with adaptive physical layer (PHY) processing components, which dynamically control the performance of the user’s mobile-station. This can be made feasible by tracking the variation of certain system-parameters followed by the real-time reconfiguration of the available system-resources. The anticipated outcome of this project proposal will be a MIMO demonstrator, namely GEDOMIS-ADCOMM (GEneric hardware DemOnstrator for MIMO Systems: An ADaptive physical layer implementation of ADvanced multi-antenna COMMunication schemes). The demonstrator will be an evolution and functional extension of the current version of the GEDOMIS® testbed.
