CTTC will sign tomorrow at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona the Shareholders’ Agreement with its spin-off company WaveMasters to enter the company equity, marking a strategic milestone in the transfer of cutting-edge research to the market. The agreement formalizes the governance structure and long-term collaboration framework between CTTC and WaveMasters, reinforcing their shared commitment to innovation, technology valorization, and industrial impact.
WaveMasters has been established with the core mission of commercializing advanced systems and solutions in the fields of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), communications, and radio-frequency (RF) technologies. These solutions are rooted in years of internationally recognized research and development carried out at CTTC.
A flagship product in WaveMasters’ portfolio is a multi-antenna anti-spoofing and anti-jamming system for GNSS receivers. The system is designed to enhance the resilience, integrity, and reliability of satellite-based positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services in critical and high-risk environments.

Enhancing GNSS security and resilience

With the increasing reliance of critical sectors such as transportation, telecommunications, and energy on GNSS-based services, the threat of signal spoofing and jamming has become a significant global concern. WaveMasters’ multi-antenna system leverages advanced signal processing, spatial filtering, and interference mitigation techniques to detect and suppress malicious or unintentional disruptions.

Strengthening technology transfer and market impact

The signing of the Shareholders’ Agreement establishes a structured collaboration model that will allow WaveMasters to bring high-value GNSS and RF innovations to international markets, develop industry partnerships and pilot deployments, and scale production and commercialization activities, which will enable WaveMasters to continue leveraging CTTC’s scientific excellence and research ecosystem.
For CTTC, the creation and consolidation of WaveMasters reinforces its strategic commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, promoting deep-tech innovation, and maximizing the socio-economic impact of publicly funded research.

A shared vision for innovation

WaveMasters will operate as an agile, innovation-driven company, bridging the gap between advanced academic research and industrial deployment. By combining CTTC’s scientific leadership with market-oriented development and commercialization strategies, the partnership aims to position WaveMasters as a key European player in resilient GNSS and RF solutions.
The signing of this agreement represents a decisive step toward strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty in secure positioning and advanced communications systems.
