AROMA-Hybrid (within the coordinated project AROMA3D) aims to jointly develop new non-terrestrial and terrestrial communications paradigms. Various options will be investigated based on the combination of terrestrial segments of cell-free massive MIMO with satellites, in order to guarantee the continuity of the service. In addition, improved radio resource management (RRM) strategies will be developed to manage traffic demand and enable efficient and shared use of spectrum. Techniques based on MEC will be studied, and several demonstrations will be made to validate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques related to RRM and MEC solutions.
