Who are we looking for?

The Space and Resilient Communications and Systems unit is looking for a senior researcher in field of integrated terrestrial-satellite communications, including secure connectivity aspects. The researcher will perform activities in the intersection of software defined satellite and terrestrial systems and applied machine learning. Qualifications and Experience

  • We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, energetic person, aiming at significantly improving his or her career perspectives in both public and private sectors. The successful applicant should have the competences of R3 category.
  • Required qualification/skills/experience:
    • PhD in telecommunications, computer science or aeronautics.
    • Experience in participation on research projects.
    • Expert knowledge in signal processing for communications.
    • Experience in laboratory-based radiofrequency experiments.
    • A very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Other skills that are valuable, but not mandatory are:
    • Experience in hands-on software defined radio systems.
    • Experience in leading tasks or workpackages in research projects.
    • Knowledge on machine learning and optimization techniques.
    • Capabilities of dissemination results in different forums: publications, standards,..
    • To hold, have held or be able to obtain a security clearance at the level of EU SECRET.
