The improvement in the per-user capacity of next generation wireless access technologies is continuously trailing the ever increasing bandwidth requirements of mobile IP services. For this reason, complementary solutions are being investigated by the research community to fulfill the same requirements using existing wireless technologies.
With this respect, a promising solution is to use multiple access technologies simultaneously in order to get an aggregated bandwidth that is sufficient to provide a satisfactory Quality of Experience (QoE) to the user.
State-of-the-art solutions for the simultaneous use of multiple access links suffer from the delay dispersion problem. Coding the information to be sent over the multipaths at the source is a promising technique to address this problem.
The project aims to design and implement a packet encoder/decoder pair to achieve better throughput/delay tradeoffs when compared with traditional routing-based solutions.
