Biografía
Marcin Chochol (Olkusz, 81’) derives from Poland. He graduated from the Faculty of Electronics of Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland in 2005 awarding MSc Eng. in the field of optical telecommunications. His master thesis was performed at Polish Academy of Sciences in Wroclaw, Poland deploying the ideas of new laser material applied to fiber lasers by spectroscopy of excited states.
During his 7 years of employment he has been working as Research Assistant starting from Wroclaw University of Technology, National Institute of Telecommunications in Warsaw and Military Communication Institute in Zegrze. All three placed in Poland. He did investigation in nano-materials engineering, fiber optical cables and new high speed optical systems. He belonged twice to the Organizing Committee of ICTON Conference (06-07’). Beyond employment in public sector he was working for private fiber-service market experiencing practical aspects of planning and montage of ground fiber distribution systems.
In 2008 he has joined to the CTTC within the PhD studies and he is currently working in the Optical Networking Area by the direct supervision of PhD Josep. M. Fabrega. His main research interests include: optical OFDM systems, coherent detection, optical measurement techniques and fiber optics.
