The aim of the RAION project focuses on the conception and the experimental performance evaluation and validation of devised on-line source-based Impairment-aware Routing and Wavelength Assignment (I-RWA) algorithms along with required protocol enhancements for dynamic GMPLS-enabled translucent Wavelength Switched Optical Networks (WSON).
