RAION2 (Inter-domain all-optical transport networks, phase 2) is a project funded by an Industrial Research Grant of KDDI R&D Labs (Japan), extending the results obtained in RAION Phase 1. The main resarch topic is the evaluation of PCE architectures and their applicability in optical transport core networs. The project also aims at carrying out an Experimental Field-Trial of Multi-domain Impairment-aware PCE-based Path Computation and protocol extensions for dynamic GMPLS-enabled translucent Wavelength Switched Optical Networks (WSON)
