Four-year PhD Fellowships to carry out the PhD Thesis in Radio Communications, Access Technologies, Communications Subsystems, Optical Networking and IP Technologies Areas.

WE ARE OFFERING

Four-year PhD fellowships to carry out a PhD thesis within a growing technological center, in a young and dynamic atmosphere with possibility to participate in international R&D projects. The initial salary is 15.480 €/year and, additionally, the fellowship also covers the fees of the PhD courses to be taken by the candidate. From the second year on and upon completion of the PhD courses, the fellowships turn into regular work contracts with a salary of 18.000 € /year (gross) during the second year and of 19.200 € /year (gross) during the third and fourth years. Every year the gross salary is potentially extensible by a lump sum bonus of up to 1200 €/year.

 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

People with a MS degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related fields, with a good academic record, strong motivation for research and interest or knowledge in topics such as (but not limited to): packet scheduling and MAC/RRM techniques for wireless communications, cognitive radio, cognitive networks, multi-carrier systems, MIMO communications, channel and network coding, cooperative communications, ultra-wideband, wireless sensor networks, design of microwave devices (filters, oscillators, antennas), positioning systems, signal acquisition/synchronization, management and control in ASON/DWDM optical networks, routing, traffic engineering, QoS and mobility, self-organisation and measurements in cellular and wireless mesh networks. Applications must be received on or before June 14, 2009, including the following documents: (1) curriculum vitae, indicating research preferences as well as the title of the Master Thesis, and (2) scanned copy of the official degrees and of the complete academic record (of both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, if it is the case)
