Each society of the IEEE nominates a few of such lecturers every year. Given an IEEE membership of 400k members, the penetration to-date is some 0.025%. Dr. Mischa Dohler is thus one of the very few Europeans and only Spain-based ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer globally.
The international selection committee had based their decisions on these evaluation criteria: 1) strength of the references in the nominations; 2) oratorical reputation of candidates; and 3) expert subject matter of candidates.
IEEE ComSoc chapters around the world will be receiving Dr. Mischa Dohler for cutting edge lectures and tutorials on various topics, such as "Machine-to-Machine: Technologies, Standards and Applications", "ICT Technologies in Smart Cities and Smart Grids", "Femtocells: Technologies, Standards and Applications" and "Cognitive and Docitive Networks". Lectures will be recorded and made available to the IEEE membership at large."
