New Research Ingineer in Ingineering Unit. Ciprian George Gavrincea was born in Baia Mare, Romania, in 1976. He obtained his Electro-mechanical Engineering degree from the North University of Baia Mare in June 1999, after finishing a Final Thesis consisted in data acquisition system. Currently, he is a PhD student at the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara, working on a thesis entitled "Contributions on myoelectric signal processing systems for upper limb prostheses".

Between 2001 and 2002 he was a system design engineer within "Electronics Engineering SA", a digital design company. There, he was responsible for FPGA based implementation, simulation, verification and documentation modules and algorithms of digital systems using VHDL .

Since 2002, he has been working as an assistant professor within the Electronic and Computer Engineering department at the North University of Baia Mare.

He has special interests in Digital Design on FPGA, Computer hardware, Computer architecture, Digital signal processing, Artificial neural networks.
