Bio
Ricardo Víctor Martínez Rivera (Barcelona, 1977) is a graduate and PhD in Telecommunications Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Feb. 2002 and April 2007, respectively).
He has worked as undergraduate researcher in Telecom Italia Lab (Tilab, Turin, Italy, 2001) participating in the IST European Commission project LION. In September 2002, he joined to CTTC's Optical Networking Area (ONA) being granted by both a pre-docotoral grant from the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat) and from CTTC's Pre-doctoral Fellowship program. Since June 2007, he is Research Associate in CTTC's ONA.
He has been actively involved in National and EU- founded R&D projects in optical networking: EUREKA ITEA (TBONES), IST IP (NOBEL, NOBEL2), MEC (RESPLANDOR), IST NoE (E-Photon/ONe+) and CTTC strategic (NETCAT).
His research interest areas include GMPLS architecture, distributed control schemes, RWA algorithms, protection and restoration strategies, all-optical (photonic) transport networks.
