Monica Navarro graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, in 1997, and received a Ph.D. in Telecommunications from the Institute for Telecommunications Research, University of South Australia, Australia in 2002. In November 2002, she joined CTTC where she currently holds a Senior Research Associate position in the area of Radio Communications, where she has participated in National and European funded projects: ACE I-II (IST NoE), WINNER I-II (IST IP), ULTRA-RED (MYCIT), CENIT-GAD (CDTI), as well as in contracts with industry SCOI, QUETZAL (PROFIT).

Prior to joining CTTC, she was a Research Assistant (Oct. 1997 – Dec. 1998) at the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at the UPC, where she worked on the development of fractal shape multiband antennas for wireless cellular communications systems. In March 1999 she joined the Institute for Telecommunications Research where she started a Ph.D. program. During her candidature she participated in the Mobility Wireless Data Consortium, Nortel Networks.

Her current research interests include: digital communications, receive and transmit strategies for multi-user wireless communications, ultra-wideband and multi-carrier systems.
