Bio

Jaime Ferragut holds a B.Eng. and a M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from the Universitat de les Illes Balears and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, respectively. In 2005 he was a SICUE-Séneca Scholar at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

During 2006 and 2007 he worked as an Information and Communication Technologies Engineer at the European Space Agency (Frascati, Italy) in the areas of Network Infrastructure and Network Security. From 2007 to 2009 he worked as a 3.5G Embedded Software Engineer at Nokia (London, UK) in the WCDMA Radio Access Network L1 team. In September 2009 he joined CTTC to pursue a PhD under the supervision of Dr. Josep Mangues-Bafalluy. He is currently a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University (New York, USA).

His research topics cover Self-Organizing Networks (SONs), mobility management optimization in 4G systems, and new architectures for heterogeneous cellular networks.
