Bio

Ciprian George Gavrincea has been born in Baia Mare, Romania, in 1976. He has obtained his Electro-mechanical Engineering degree from the North University of Baia Mare in June 1999. In 2009 he has received PhD degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara, title awarded for the thesis entitled "Contributions on myoelectric signal processing systems for upper limb prostheses based on artificial neural networks".

Between 2001 and 2002 he was a system design engineer within "Electronics Engineering SA", a digital design company. There, he was responsible for FPGA based implementation of various digital processing algorithms using VHDL .

Between 2002 -2008, he has been working at Electronic and Computer Engineering department of the North University of Baia Mare first as teaching assistant and later as lecturer.

Since 2008 he is working at Centre Tecnologic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya, Spain, where he has been responsible for hardware implementation, simulation, verification of modules and algorithms for digital communication systems. He has participated in the development of the physical layer of different testbeds for telecommunication systems like UWB, LTE.

He is a member of IEEE society since 2006 and was elevated at the grade of Senior Member in 2011.

He has participated in the organization of various R&D activities and he have participated various R&D projects as research engineer or as project leader.

He has special interests in Digital Design on FPGA, Computer hardware, Computer architecture, Digital signal processing, Artificial neural networks.
