Bio
Giuseppe Cocco (Italy) received his MSc degree (Cum Laude) in Telecommunications Engineering from the “Università di Pisa” in Pisa (Italy) in 2008 with a thesis concerning fair resources allocations in ad-hoc networks based on information theoretical metrics .
From September 2007 to March 2008 he stayed at CTTC, where he worked on his thesis in the framework of the WIP - An All-Wireless Mobile Network Architecture Project.
Since October 2008 he is pursuing his PhD at the Signal Theory and Communications Department (TSC) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). In 2008 he was awarded the PhD fellowship of the Technological Center of Telecommunications of Catalonia (CTTC) of Barcelona.
In 2009 he was awarded the Networking/Partnering Initiative (NPI) grant by the European Space Agency (ESA) for his research proposal on gap-filler-less mobile satellite networks. In July 2010 he began a one-year stay at ESA's European Research and Technology Center (ESTEC) in the Netherlands.
His research interests lie in the fields of cooperative communications, network coding, MIMO systems and satellite communications.
